A garden by the sea!
A large acting garden a stone's throw from the sea at Pizzolungo on the slopes of Mount Erice.
Far from the city, you can be lulled in a hammock between two palm trees, prepare a BBQ in the shade of damerici and sip a drink in front of the most beautiful sunsets that the Trapani coast can give you.
The setting
The garden is located at the end of a road that flows out a few meters from the sea.
The privacy and silence around is total due to the little daytime traffic and the absence of neighbors, except for a few seagulls in flight passing by.
Inside are plants of the Mediterranean flora: prickly pears, palms, oleanders, dwarf palms, damerici, aloes, agaves, and cacti.
Whether you prefer sunset or sunrise matters little: the view sweeps from the east with Mount Cofano to the west with the Egadi Islands. On some summer days you can even admire the moonrise from Mount Erice, which provides a southern backdrop.
The spots
The wooden gate is 4.30 m wide. Immediately at the entrance is the first white pebble plot of just over 30 sq m (approx. 10x3 m). There is a well with NON-drinking water but usable for communal activities (showers, washing clothes, ect.). A second pitch, also in white pebbles of an additional 30 sq. m., divided from the first by an oleander and pittosporum hedge, where no means of transport can be parked. Finally, a third pitch, in red earthenware, in which it is possible to set up the living area with tables and seats. There is an outdoor cupboard, a mini-fridge and electric stoves upon request.
The sanitary facilities
There are no toilets or hot water.
One well with NON-drinking water.
The amenities
There is no Wi-Fi internet but has good 4g phone line reception.
A kitchenette, cookware, dishes, cutlery is available.
We also have basic ingredients (Trapani salt, our own oil, sugar etc.) but on request to avoid spoilage.
Electricity is outside, adjacent to the second pitch, with the possibility of extension.
A long traditional drying rack is present.
The activities
Nearby you can benefit from the many coves among the rocks; the pebble beaches are all within walking distance. However, the use of suitable shoes is recommended. It is possible to engage in snorkeling, spearfishing or angling from a nearby platform. For hiking enthusiasts, a few kilometers away, it is possible to visit the Grotta Emiliana and the cave of Polyphemus with rock depictions inside them.
The beaches of Cornino and San Vito Lo Capo can also be reached by public transportation.
Other things
The garden is located a few kilometers away from Bonagia, a small fishing town where all major services (fishmongers, butcher's shop, post office, tobacconist, supermarket, bar, restaurant, ice cream parlor) are located. Some of these, for example, the pizzeria, also do home delivery service.
