Description

In general, if you like nature and simplicity, you'll feel right at home with me ;)

My (artist's) house and my eco-place* (which gives pride of place to nature) are constantly being renovated and refurbished, so there's always a bit of work going on inside and out... I try to keep the sanitary facilities and camping areas as clean as possible, and I'm counting on the campers to do the same :))

*Please note that "eco-place" does not always mean "community" or "collective"...

Camping in the garden is not "conventional low-cost camping". In my little paradise, there are no electric hook-ups on the pitches, and you can't get to them by car because they're in my garden, below the house and the road (see photo 4), or in the valley!
To get to the terraced pitches around the house, you'll have to carry your gear up the "slope" (Corrèze is not Beauce ;) for... 53 m, maximum.
For the edge of the pond and the pitches in the woods, you'll need to allow for 200 m on the slope.
Avoid wheeled suitcases and practice first! :D

I've been welcoming campers to the garden since 2012. While the spirit of the early days has changed a lot, it's still the same at my place: it's meeting people and the human element that comes first!!!!
That's why I refuse the principle of instant booking :)
If you make a simple inquiry, please keep me informed of your decision not to come. My pitches are not managed by artificial intelligence. Kindness and politeness don't cost much and are good for everyone :)

>>>> This year, I'm gradually switching to solar water heating.
Remember to bring your individual solar shower bags (unless you prefer cold showers :) The outdoor shower overlooking the valley is almost finished and, in everyone's opinion, it's a real pleasure to use :)

The setting

Isolated eco-location, focused on preserving nature in general and biodiversity in particular.
Very little unnatural noise, no night lighting, no traffic, no pollution... 100% natural setting overlooking the valley (meadows and forest)!
A silent bitch at night and no rooster! But nature makes noise in summer, even at night ;)
Of course, when a fighter jet trains in the area or a microlight flies over the valley, you can hear it ;)
For the moment, motorcycles and quads are very rare... I hope it lasts...
The industrial wind turbines (planned to be 200 m high because of the lack of wind!...) aren't here yet, and we're fighting hard to ensure that these subsidy-grabbing machines leave the region, wildlife, nature, locals and tourists alone!
With all the mixed forests growing on its slopes, the valley is magnificent in autumn...
Ideal for reconnecting or as a base for sightseeing trips :) Less so for an overnight stopover, given its distance from the main traffic arteries.

The spots

I offer 3 well-flat pitches in sun and shade (in the morning) for small or medium-sized tents (up to 3 applications and 4 to 6 tents) next to and below the old barn (Lawn, flower and fruit beds. View over the valley).
In 2018, I created a new pitch especially for large tents. The platform is 6 x 12 m (lawn, shaded areas, green window on the valley).
And 3 or 4 others, away from it all (accessible on foot only +/- 250 m), in the woods, near the pond or stream (for bushcraft fans or die-hard "Into the Wild" fans... without the bus ;)

----- > When you make your first contact, please let me know the size of your tent(s) so that I can optimize the layout :)

The pitches are not accessible by car, but those around the house are not far from the parking lot.
Only one pitch for vans or minivans. Two outside the July 14-August 15 period.
It's almost flat (I can lend chocks). It's not heavenly (no view of the valley) but it's possible to eat in the garden :)

The sanitary facilities

Bathroom available at all hours (discretion appreciated at night) with washbasin, shower and WC.
This year, I'm gradually switching to solar heating. Remember to bring your own individual solar shower bags (unless you like cold showers ;)
I'm supplied by a captured spring and a reservoir. It is therefore advisable not to spend too long in the shower and to use it with reasonable frequency (not like in the city ;) so as not to deplete the reserves in the event of a dry summer.
As my washrooms are shared and I have no "cleaning staff" ;) their cleanliness depends on everyone! Just like at home :) I keep an eye on things every morning, but I'm counting on you to keep everything clean :)

No urinating on the site... after a few days, it smells really VERY bad :( No problem in the woods more than 50 m from the site.

An outdoor sink is available for washing up (ecological products only, as the water goes directly onto the plants).

The amenities

WiFi connection available on request, but the network is quite good.
It's also possible to connect a charger or cooler in the barn (a small fee is appreciated).
The kitchen (under construction) is not normally accessible to campers (so no criticism of its condition will be accepted ;) but, if need be, we can make arrangements :)
On request, I can provide a fridge for campers who don't have a cool box. For the fridge or cooler connection, a free financial contribution (depending on your use) will be greatly appreciated.

The activities

Activity no. 1: hiking, starting from my home (I can suggest a few walks with descriptions).
But you can also go canoeing on the Dordogne, aquarando (starting from my house), ULM baptisms, mountain biking and all kinds of other sporting activities in the surrounding area (motocross and quads are forbidden at my house and very unpleasant in the whole valley - however, there is a circuit 30 minutes away).
The region is also full of remarkable sites to visit.
And, of course, the famous Monceaux country markets every Thursday evening (farmers' market, barbecue, lottery, dinner tables, dance...).

--- New! ---

- I organize, on request, training courses in green wood carving (introduction to knife carving for beginners, or making spatulas, spoons... for others). All without the use of electricity). I supply the tools, but if you have your own, that's even better :) Just let me know in advance so I can prepare the fresh wood needed (usually beech).
Free participation on the basis of €20 per person for a two-hour session.

- Anyone wishing to learn how to build a dry-stone wall (without any binder) or work with wood for eco-construction, is welcome to take part in my workcamps. Free of charge.

For all these activities, it's essential to speak to me beforehand :)

I also offer a mini-shop with our products (jam to eat on the spot, a few vegetables from the garden when possible, wooden objects, posters and homemade postcards...).

Other things

Welcome aperitif offered to campers staying at least two nights.
For those staying only one night, the aperitif can also be shared (at your initiative and depending on your arrival time).

My cat lives freely around the house... full-time. My dog too, but part-time ;) She barks fiercely at new arrivals but is very quiet and doesn't do it again once introductions are made :)
Please don't feed them directly (go through me for leftovers) and keep your tents closed in your absence.

Rules

Respect the peace and quiet, the premises, plantations, crops and animals.

IMPORTANT >>> Use only BIODEGRADABLE washing-up liquid, soap and shampoo !!! Nature will appreciate it :)
Do not urinate (even discreetly ;) in the garden, vegetable garden, orchard or near buildings... The following campers will appreciate it and so will I ;)
Drive slowly (walkers, children and animals may be on the road).
Non-smokers, if possible (flexible rule for reasonable and clean smokers ;)
Unless otherwise agreed, no fires.
Only very calm, quiet and clean animals are accepted.
Please leave the premises clean and wash up after use (just like at home :)
Do not make (email hidden)Sort your garbage and take it to the containers at the top of the road (or to the compost bin in the garden, for vegetable waste). If you have leftovers (old bread, for example), don't throw them away. It's always good for the animals :)

----- IMPORTANT! ----- Don't feed the animals directly (always go through me!); even if the dog does her "poor starving animal" act... she's a great comedienne when it comes to begging for leftovers ;)

  • A story of technical problems that ended in a beautiful story thanks to Philippe's availability and kindness. If you like Ecolieu, it's a place we warmly recommend... you'll find everything you need, especially the essentials... Good luck to Philippe, who has lots of great projects in mind. A slightly larger space for mini-caravans will be available soon, I'm sure.

  • Visiting for a night, I was totally disconnected and very pleasantly welcomed by Phil.
Thank you very much. I recommend .

  • A wonderful stopover at Philippe's!
A warm welcome in an exceptional unspoilt setting!
My children enjoyed falling asleep to the sound of nature and hearing the owls hooting every night.
We took part in a woodcarving workshop offered by Philippe, which was so instructive that we couldn't stop!
    Many thanks, we'll be back!

  • Great stay with Philippe! A green vacation, that's for sure: beautiful surroundings, nature everywhere, magnificent skies!
Plus an introduction to green wood carving, a few aperitifs etc... A place you won't forget and that makes you want to come back again...
Thank you Philippe for your welcome

  • Second stay at Philippe's, happiness, a breath of fresh air, interesting people, right down to the philosophical dog...

  • We had a wonderful stay with Philippe. A real experience in the heart of nature. We really enjoyed talking to Philippe. We were also able to visit the waterfall and take a nice hike in the forest. A wonderful experience. Thank you Philippe for your warm welcome :)

  • Incredible views and a very kind host. Thank you Philippe!

  • I enjoyed camping at Philippe's place in front of the forest. My need to connect with nature was satisfied. Philippe is welcoming, thanks for the aperitif. And moreover he proposes nice hikes.
    Thank you

  • Second time that we come to Philippe's place! And it is always the same delight to share these few days here! Our two families have rejuvenated themselves in this nature, in contact with the biodiversity, with the shimmering colors of the surrounding mountains, under a stream of hot water from the solar shower with a breathtaking view of the valley, under the waterfalls with their reviving water and especially with our discreet but attentive, sensitive and generous host! Thanks to you Philippe ! Peter and co

  • Philippe has chosen a wonderful place and shares with us his passion for creation in a protective forest and in a surprisingly diverse landscape: remained cool despite the heat wave. Ideal for those who want a direct relationship with nature and culture. We appreciated the great luxury of taking a shower outside in front of the wooded valley: as far as the eye can see.
A rustic place recommended for people who like adventure and the immersion of Philippe's creative process. Plenty to do.

  • A wonderful experience like last year. Immersed in nature, what happiness! We loved to come back and exchange with Fil. We keep these moments warm in our hearts. Thank you Fil!

  • Original and friendly, we spent a good moment of authenticity, in a green setting, Philippe is welcoming and knew how to share his little haven of peace.

  • The site is beautiful.
Perfect for us, only one night between two days of horseback riding.
Thanks to Philippe for the grassy area for our companions.

  • My 8 year old son and I had a great time at Phillipe's house. His ecolieu is very rejuvenating. We loved the hikes in the forest and countryside, the swims in the streams and waterfalls, and the solar shower with a view on the valley. We will return with pleasure.

  • Super, very good stay. Thanks Philippe

  • We were very well received by Philippe, who is a host who loves to receive. The land is quiet, the birds singing and the peace of the place. We really appreciated these few days at Philippe's place and will come back with pleasure. Thank you for everything!

  • Philippe is a very pleasant person with whom one feels very easily at ease and who has many qualities and artistic gifts. He has a strong sense of beauty and harmony in his creations, which made us travel a lot!
The nature around his home is really lush, it was perfect for us to feel far from the hustle and bustle of human life :)
    [...]
As for the cleanliness and the maintenance, it is very subjective, I believe that each one will have a different opinion on the question since we do not have all the same styles of life.
We keep a memory full of magic of this short passage, with the desire to come back, surely for woofing this time because there are full of beautiful things to make ^^
Thanks for your warm welcome Philippe! :D

  • Thank you very much
A return to the roots and harmony.
    Always so captivating.

  • A sweet dream... Explosion of emotions, of sensations in this preserved nature and true and sympathetic exchanges with Phil who is deeply kind and warm. Thank you for welcoming us in your fantastic universe. We will come back for sure!

  • A stay as we like them and a wonderful host!
A beautiful meeting in a haven of peace in the middle of my nature!
Thank you Philippe for opening your door with so much kindness and the desire to share your daily life.
    See you soon

  • We were looking for nature and the Dordogne, we found them, calm assured! Philippe is welcoming and has good advice. Thank you for this stay and good luck for the future projects of hens, gardening etc... Yours sincerely Nathalie

  • An enchanted parenthesis, a reconnection with the fauna and flora...
Philippe is a very attentive person and is full of imagination.
We come back different, happy to have lived this moment of beauty.

  • We put our tent in the camp of the foxes: under wood in 200 m of the house of our host. We stayed there for 4 nights: change of scenery guaranteed. Very happy with our experience

  • Our passage in Corrèze was a true break ressourçante. The ecolieu de Fil is a haven of peace. Our tent thus in the heart of nature, we would have gladly stayed longer if we had not been expected afterwards. Fil is a friendly host, in the exchange and of surplus an artist. I highly recommend a stop in this magical place.

  • Too short stay at Philippe's because it is a place cut off from the world, calm far from the crowd and relaxing...but we will surely come back for the tranquility ;)

  • Great stay at Philippe's, despite 3 days of rain we really enjoyed this stay, the surrounding nature was beautiful after these rains!
If you like the isolation, the human warmth, the quiet life, then go to Fil and Bodhie (the four-legged friend!).
We will keep a very good memory of this stay, and who knows? Maybe we will come back!

  • Ideal place for nature lovers, and for those who wish to cut themselves off from the world.

  • A passage shorter than expected but which left me the time to appreciate the place....the apero....the human warmth that nestles in this small and simple remote corner

  • A nice moment at Philippe's place, in the quiet of his secluded valley, rocked by the owls!

  • Great stay at Philippe's, very welcoming and kind. Very charming place, in the middle of nature, I recommend !

  • Very rich meeting of exchanges and place out of time ....bain of greenery, and forests. Philippe is perfectly integrated in his natural environment and rich in projects. Stay too short to discover all the secrets.
I hope to come back to share and make this time (the wood, the earth, the plants, everything invites it)

  • Superb welcome and a very nice place to camp in the middle of nature.
Thanks to Philippe for this evening of exchange around a friendly drink. We will come back for a longer stay

  • Philippe,

What more can I say than what has already been said in the comments?

A magical place, unique and out of time. I advise all those who wish to have a simple and rejuvenating happiness to stop by Philippe's place.

The valley is magnificent, the "natural" setting of the house as well. I could only spend one night there and I already hope to come back one day.

Thank you again for your welcome and your availability by message before my arrival.

    Raphaël

  • Phillipe is a very warm person, available and very kind. The place was absolutely beautiful. You can go there with your eyes closed.

  • Lesdames is a unique and endearing place! It was a pleasure to meet Philippe, someone who has a great experience of the natural world and a great availability for the people he receives. Good luck with your project for the site!

  • Beautiful setting, very welcoming owner. We spent a very good stay "au naturel".

  • Very well spent. The place is located at 20min from a small village where you can eat etc. And you can go to a great waterfall nearby.
    Clean bathroom and toilet.
    Phillipe is nice!

  • Philippe lives at the end of the world and it is a real treat to share it with him. We spent 3 nights at the pond (one of the 2 sites at the bottom of his hill). It was very wild, as described on his page. We loved it. Water and toilet access is at the level of his house, so it's up the hill. There are other sites close to his house, so with more comfort.
The surrounding nature is superb and it is very quiet.
Philippe is a very endearing person, who has worked hard but has remained very humble. He also creates links between the different campers, with nice aperitifs.
And his green wood cutting workshops are a real relaxing interlude!
In short, we recommend him with our eyes closed!

  • We had an exceptional stay at Philippe's place! As much for the setting, which as much as to say it is a small jewel of paradise in the middle of the nature, as for the human meetings. Phil is an incredible person that you absolutely have to meet. His place is magnificent (especially in the early morning!), calm and restful. The welcome is warm, and the moments of life in small communities are precious. Philippe is always available for any advice on things to do and see in the region. He will also help you discover his artistic universe if you wish.

    To stay without moderation!

Thanks again for this meeting and these moments spent together.

  • Quietness just the sounds of nature. What happiness. Philippe is a very nice and cool person. Each camper has his own little corner of paradise and Philippe makes sure that everyone knows each other which creates an atmosphere and an experience that we loved. 2 weeks of pure happiness.

  • Perfect place with a beautiful view. Total disconnection and very warm welcome. Conviviality assured around a small welcome drink. We loved it and we will come back. Thank you Phil, you gave a great note to this beginning of vacations!

  • A magical place and a host of a rare simplicity and generosity. We were overwhelmed by the personality of the place and the welcome. We met people from all walks of life but with the same simplicity. We left with a lot of memories and we promise to come back one day.

  • Very pleasant stay with Philippe! Our site was located in the heart of a forest, no noise! We were able to meet Philippe and the other campers during a nice evening. For those who are looking for calm and serenity it is the perfect place. Thanks again to Philippe!

  • For a first experience of Garden Camping, we were well served. Philippe is very welcoming, and his site is very good for those who want to be in the middle of nature. We camped in the forest in an area that was set up to pitch a tent, with a fire pit. We recommend it.

  • We had a wonderful at Philippe's. A very nice, quiet place to stay. Philippe was a wonderful ghost, he gave us tips to do and also let us do our own thing.
Brilliant to see so many stars going to sleep and hearing the animals of the forest, to wake up and see the beautiful valley
    Very recommandable!

  • For those who are looking for peace in a preserved nature, Philippe's haven is exactly what you need...
Thank you very much. We had a happy stay with you Philippe, and corrected our oversight with a small mailing.
A little thought for Body and 2be???? our guests...

  • Small corner of paradise in the peace!
    Very good welcome from Philippe!
First camping experience at the top for my little wolf. Great time around the campfire with scouts present that day and a starry sky to fall down !
Don't hesitate, go to Phil !

  • Our stay at Philippe's house was a meeting experience! His kingdom is magnificent but listening to him tell his stories, his kindness will be what will have marked us!

  • Philippe welcomed us very well and the presentations were made, accompanied by an aperitif with the other campers. A great idea ????
Philippe is very helpful and very attentive. I recommend him.

  • Very good experience with Philippe.
    Secluded lot, very nice view.
